My Life Manifesto
This new cycle that is about to begin is probably the most important one in my life because my future as a professional depends on it. I will soon be in a university studies to fulfill my greatest dreams and goals and I am frightened, as I was back then. The only difference is that now I don’t have my mother to give me courage. All I have is the things I have learned in school for the past 13 years. Most people say that school is useless because most of the things you learn in school won’t help you in the real world, but I would tell those people that they are wrong. Yes, not everything one learns in school is going to be useful in life, but not all is a waste. School taught me values like: responsibility, attentiveness, audacity, humility, ambition, consciousness of the world around me, cooperation, and creativity, among others. These values will be come in handy for the rest of my life. Without these values I would feel very ignorant and out of place. School gave me the right tools to tackle any obstacle that gets in my way. I have learned that being afraid of new experiences is okay and I know that I will acquire the courage to keep going.
My dream in life is to become an actor in Hollywood. Every time I watch a movie I am amazed about what the actors I love can do. Their way of portraying a character is so impeccable that one forgets who the actor is and sees only the character they are portraying. They do it so flawlessly that it gives me goose bumps. Someday I want to be able to give another young boy or girl, who love acting the way I do, and give them the same goose bumps that Johnny Depp, Robert downy junior, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman, Will Smith, George Clooney, and Anthony Hopkins gave me. I want to be responsible for changing someone´s life with work, and I know some day I will. I want to make people happy, and the thing that I want the most is to be happy myself, doing the thing I love the most in the world. I know what lies ahead is not going to be easy, but I am willing to do anything to accomplish my goals.
I know that to persevere I must first put in hard work. As Marie Curie once said, ¨Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.¨ (Curie) Every time I read this quote I remember that nothing in life is just going to be handed to me. I must work for what I want. When you deserve something, it doesn’t mean they are just going to give it to you. Sometimes you got to fight for what you want and take what is yours.
This is my declaration. Today I am still a student, but I will soon be a professional with responsibilities. I will never stop fighting for my dreams, even if it takes me a really long time. Patience is key, and I will wait for as long as I have to. I am eagered to see what the world holds for me and I know that each step that I take, I won´t be alone. My friends and family will be right behind me encouraging me to keep pushing forward. I am ready to overcome all obstacles thrown my way. Even though this step I am about to take may be the most crucial step in my life, I know in my heart that I am ready to take it.
